babby luvs art
The babster is as baffled as I am, as to what is going on in this blockprint. I redrew the image so many times, that it will be blind intuition that drives the outcome from the resulting mess of lines.
I have been carving it for three days, including a saturday night sleepover of 6 very loud 13 year old girls, which is when the thing began to go horribly wrong. Can't really create serenely amongst all that, you know.
But there's nothing like a deadline to make you drop everything and get serious with small sharp knives, so I pressed on with it. The thing with printmaking is that you never really know how it will turn out until you make a print.
Lucky I have my assistant.
Now, if I could "do" lolspeak,
I'd have made a lolcat title,

Maybe Babby is the work of art herself! Or at the very least, your muse...
She does indeed look baffled! At least you've got the photography part down!
Gorgeous inspector you have there!
I don't know which is more beautiful, the pussycat or the block print. What an amazing talent you have!
Oh! Lovely fish!
(Here via Pavlov ...)
Pavlov was right about your blog being beautiful - i followed her remark and i am glad.
re LOL - a melbourne linguist blog has some humour on it, and a LOL anthem too. worth a visit.
thanks for the comments!
Ann O'D especially. tried to visit that blog...could you send the address as I can't link to it or find it....
Lovely art work and also lovely cat. I see that cats are as useful assistants to artists as they are to ironers in our household.
I know what its like to have teen girls around the house.I am a artist to and I have to have the time and the peace to do a great work of art.
I have to be in the mood, and the creative juices need to be just right.
from what I see it looks like a cool print will come from it.
your cat is cool.
my daughter,s cat Omar is a helper to.he hears school work or bill,s being done and he is right there to help.
That fabulous feline sure puts the 'quality' into Quality Control.
Linking is easy -
that's how I am gonna do this for the link to the great language chick in Melb
Blockprinting is something I've always wanted to try. Someday...
Yours looks rather nice to me. Is it just for a poster Or what?
You're quiet this week on your blog ... what's up?
Yes I guess I have been quiet.
It has been a strange week, the prospect of the new semester, things to write, classes to teach, domestic dramas...impending doom...
and so what did I do?
Go into complete denial and finish a print.
Ah, the blessed mindlessness of it all.
Bt thank you for asking. I will be my usual garrulous self soon.
But really, thank you for all these nice comments.
Cats always know best!
