The water looks so good I can almost taste it.

It's like a big arrow pointing to a spot on the horizon.

That photo is stunning. Stunning, and definitely joy-inspiring.

Hope things have been going well in your neck of the woods...or should that be in your salty waters?!

It was actually enormous, and went all along the way from east to west....
meggie you are always looking up!
meli, its possibly best to taste it after a storm.
missed you this morn miss jane it was thumping and I kept zoning out and getting thumped. I was covered in algae when I got out.

The arrow was pointing to a special place out to sea.

hello jelly, it's been wild in my salty neck of the ocean :-)

That is an incredible picture. Did you take it? It looks like an altostratus or maybe altocumulus one.

As I have absolutely no idea of the weather patterns or land-sea interactions in your part of the world beyond the most generic "the weather map is upside down" (sorry), I can't make any guesses as to why that kind of cloud would form ... or if it is a common occurrence.

Lenticular clouds forming over and downwind of mountains have "flyng saucer" shapes and can remain stationary for long periods of time. Lenticular clouds are a type of altocumulus cloud.

Come to think of it, that might actually be a cirrocumulus cloud. I dunno.

leave it to Arcturus to know the name of the cloud! I think there is more information floating around that man's brain than cloud particles in your lovely image!

Thank you, Little Things. I think.
