Six Months in a Leaky Boat: In which the Fush looks at Long White Clouds

Aoteoroa,

rugged individual,

glisten like a pearl

at the bottom of the world,

The tyranny of distance,
Didn't stop the cavalier
So why should it stop me?
I'll conquer and stay free

*

I didn't mean to disappear:
Things surrounded me, and hid me away, but not the things one might think.

I have been reflecting on an  extraordinary year, which seems to be determined to show its wonders
right up to the last minute.

The visit I made to see my father right after he was drowning
I was astounded to come face to face with him, chatting and completely back to normal.
In fact he challenged me to a breath-holding contest, in which I almost took part.

The year continues to be filled with surprises.

Hi Fifi,
I'm glad your Dad is feeling better!

Aoteoroa - Don't you just love the sound of the word?

xx

I find that disappearing is sometimes the ONLY thing to do.

The breath-holding contest challenge cracked me up :-)

Hello dear fifi. Great news about your pa.

Disappear all you like .... that's what slippery, silvery fish do. We know you'll be back when you can.

Good to hear there's a wind in your Dad’s sails. A wonderful gift at the end of an eventful year as was the rare sunshine in Milford Sound. Someone is smiling on you.

I"m glad your father is better.

I've had that kind of year too and it is rather splendid although exhausting and uncertain in many respects. But it keeps us young eh not knowing what will be thrown at us and what wonders we will experience?

Welcome back and enjoy those oysters. (Isn't that a bit like cannibalism...?)
